Craft Milk Stand - Kichijoji, Tokyo

The Musashino Tokyo Craft Milk Stand is a small but cozy hole in the wall serving up some of the finest milk varieties from across Japan.  There is always a great range on offer and even tasting flights available if you would like to sample multiple varities. I'd originally found this stall at the Tokyo Coffee Festival and was keen to return to sample some of the types they did not bring along. This Takara Farm variety was creamy and heavy but incredibly refreshing.  Link:  https://g.co/kgs/ykMeYQq Address: 2 Chome-25-3 Kichijoji Honcho, Musashino, Tokyo 180-0004, Japan

Jazz in Rokudenashi - Shimogyo Ward, Saitocho, Kyoto

A tucked away cupboard-esque Jazz bar along one of the bar strips of Kyoto. Handwritten menus and a simple selection of drinks, the star of the show is the owner's extensive vinyl record collection and relaxed old school vibes. It's a great venue to wind down after a long day or to start the night out in a relaxed way.   Link:  https://g.co/kgs/sFbG5E2 Address: Japan, 〒600-8012 Kyoto, Shimogyo Ward, Saitocho, 127

Bar Cordon Noir - Nakagyo Ward, Ishiyacho, Kyoto

Bar Cordon Noir is situated on the 3rd floor of an unassuming office building.  While difficult to find, once you exit the small dinky elevator you'll be greeted with a cozy and inviting cocktail bar straight out of the golden era of alcohol consumption, when it was classy.  In true skilled master fashion, the bar tender on shift can whip up almost anything you can think of, or keep it simple. (I had a Gin Sour and an Espresso Martini) There is also a nice selection of bar snacks available and, according to google, a cigar menu. Nemo - Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo

Where to begin with Nemo? Quite simply put, my favourite bar in Japan. For Scotch/Whisky and Cocktails, look no further! I have been here countless times over the course of many trips and since moving to Japan. Nemo is an institution and one of the best experiences a first timer or experienced traveler can have at a bar in Japan.  Many years ago we stumbled in here, and ever since Ive been coming back. The range of Scotch/Whisky on offer is staggering.  While the initial allure is the range of Scotch/Whisky and the master's knowledge on them, the cocktails on offer (really any that you can think of/in the masters wheelhouse) are crafted to perfection. Rarely a single drop is left in the shaker as every eyeballed measurement is poured within millimetres of the rim.  And who doesn't love a bar with their own Kit Kat collaboration.  Link: https://g.co/kgs/bBoF28q Address: 1 Chome-11-11 Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo 111-0032, Japan NOTE: Cash Only
